I am broadly interested in marine community and evolutionary ecology. Currently, I am wrapping up my M.S. degree at the University of North Florida, advised by Dr. Matt Kimball. My thesis work was directed at assessing the temporal patterns of larval fish ingress through two north Florida inlets. Next month I will begin a Ph.D. program at the University of Louisiana Lafayette working with Dr. Joe Neigel.
Prior to returning to school myself, I taught high school in St. Johns County, FL. While the job was rewarding, and definitely never boring, something was missing… I wanted to be able to ask and explore questions about how the world works beyond just using the deductive reasoning that was required to determine who was always drinking my good coffee in the teacher’s lounge and replacing it with Folgers.
